Yuliya Tsukerman is a Brooklyn-based puppeteer and myth-maker working in theater and film. She writes, directs, and designs cross-disciplinary works, often in collaboration with other artists.

Her current project, Transmissions from the Ancient Forest, is a series of video poems and accompanying books in which a community of lesser gods tries to make sense of human suffering.

Her work has been supported by the Jim Henson Foundation, a Franklin Furnace Grant, a Jerome Fellowship Alternate Grant, the NYFA Playwriting/Screenwriting Grant, and funding from Loghaven and The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. Her plays have been performed at venues including St. Ann’s Warehouse, Mana Contemporary, The Arts Center on Governors Island, Roulette Intermedium, and New Perspectives Theatre.
