It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and waving “Hello!” to everyone in the park.
A colorful rainbow danced in the sky.
All the friends were out on the playground swinging on the swings.
They climbed up to the top of the slide, and they went down the slide.
They climbed up the monkey bars, swung across, and jumped down again.
When they heard the ice cream truck, they jumped for joy.
They ran to the ice cream truck.
All of a sudden, they heard a terrifying roar.
They heard creatures stomping toward them.
They shook with fear and hid behind the trees.
From behind the bushes, the monsters appeared!
The monsters looked to the left. They looked to the right. The friends knew that those hungry, hungry monsters were looking for them.
The monsters roared.
They stomped their feet.
They opened and closed their mouths, showing their sharp, sharp teeth.
They wiggled their arms and legs and shook their bodies.
Then they said, “Hey! Where did everybody go? We just wanted to play!”
So one by one, feeling very brave, the friends came out of hiding.
And the friends and the monsters played together.
They swung on the swings.
They climbed up to the top of the slide and went whooshing down.
They chased the ice cream truck.
The friends shared their ice cream with the monsters.
Finally, the sun came out of hiding. It waved “Hello.” The colorful rainbow danced.
And no one got eaten that day.
